Unlike other religious leaders, Jesus claimed to be
God. He thought He was perfect and seated all authority
in Himself. Someone who goes around claiming to be God
is usually not considered to be good or wise. That person is a
nut, and we usually commit such a person to a mental
institution. However, Jesus can be found in the New
Testament making the following claims about Himself.
Six ways Jesus was unique
or different from other major religious leaders:
- Jesus considered Himself
to be morally perfect.
- Jesus seated authority in
Himself.
- Jesus spoke of the
eternal world as though He had been there personally.
- Jesus placed Himself in
the center of the religious universe.
- Jesus viewed His death as
somehow providing deliverance necessary for all. mankind.
- Jesus claimed He would be
killed and be raised again after three days to vindicate
all He had said.
